#1 Swallow nest castle, Ukraine
One of the most beautiful castles in the world is standing on the rocky peak of the Crimea. In the province of Jalta, the castle stands on the top of the vertical rocks. It was built on the 40 meters high Aurora cliff. There is a stunning view from the windows and the balcony to the sea and the rocky shores. There was also a predecessor of the building, a wooden dagger built by a Russian general in 1895 as a love nest. In 1911, a certain Baron Von Steingel fell in love with it and bought it from the general, he had more than enough money for it, as he was the first in the world, who exported oil from Baku to Europe. He then instructed Leonyid Sherwood, a Russian architect who had set this little miracle of a lacy tower up in one year. Its sampleĀ might have been the famous castle in Neuschwanstein. The castle was named by the Baron as a swallowtail.
